Las Vegas Region Autocross School
September 12, 13, 14 - 2003
Who is the school for?
The autocross school has been developed for any driver who wants to improve his or her driving skills. The school is open to all drivers with a valid driver's license. SCCA members as well as non-member are welcome.
What will I learn?
The school is designed to give drivers an understanding of car control, safety and tips to become a better driver on and off the track. All students will receive classroom time (with handouts), personalized training with an experienced driver, and the option to enter the Autocross event on Sunday.
Autocross School Schedule of Events
Proposed Schedule (Subject to change)
Location: Las Vegas Motor Speedway
September 12th - (Location: TBA)
7-9pm Ground School (Safety, Theory, Driving Tips etc.)
September 13th - LVMS - Midway Lot
7:30-8:30am - Onsite Sign-In and Instructor Assignments
8:30-11:30am - Driving Drills (2 Drill Sets, Rotate after 1Hr)

1pm-5pm - On Course Run Time
September 14th - LVMS - Midway Lot
7AM-5PM SCCA Autocross Event (optional and extra charge)
How much will it cost?
$50 for the Friday and Saturday sessions. Package rates may be available in combination with Sunday's event.
What do I need to bring?
Once registered, you only need to bring yourself and your car. You should also have your driver's license. Helmets will be provided by the club, but if you have a Snell 2000 or better helmet - bring it. Lunch will be provided on Saturday, but it is strongly recommended that you bring water and snacks.
Do I need to have a 'race car'?
Any car is allowed - IF it passes a simple Technical Inspection. Trained technicians will be examining your car for safety reasons on Friday night. Among the things they'll look for is:
Working seat belts - Driver and Passenger
Passenger Seat (for instructor)
Battery must be secure
Brakes must work
Wheel bearing cannot be loose.
Car must be empty of ALL loose objects.
Failure to pass inspection will result in your car not being allowed to run in the school or event
How do I register?
Registration forms will be available online, or through a SCCA member. The school is limited to 40 students who will be accepted on a "first come - first served" basis. Registration costs will not be refunded without at least 2 weeks notice.

Yup car control will probably be a part of it and approaching corners and all other techniques on driving fast will be taught.
You'll learn a lot about how your car handles and how to properly take a corner, slalom, etc etc etc. It's a great experiance and it's well priced.
If you intrested email Scott ASAP as spots are filling up quickly!

The only class time will be the 2 hours on Fri night.
All Sat is driving time. The morning session will be drills with instruction. The afternoon session will be on course run time to apply all that you've learned.
