Are jobs really THAT scarce in Vegas?
Ok so some of you may know (Ryan) Ive been looking to move out there for the past 6 months but a few deaths in the family set me back a little. Im finally ready (financially) to get back on track and start saving up to make the move. Ive been looking in my field (autocad drafter) for jobs in the Vegas area and came up with nothing. Only a hand ful of jobs and they werent that great. Is every field like this or just the engineering/ drafting field? I mean I wouldnt mine making a switch as long as the pay is similar. I really want to come out there but the job market is scaring me. Any input would be great.

I think that the job market should scare you. I personally wouldn't want to be looking for a job right now. If it were me, I'd stay tight in my safe job until the economy has settled itself and jobs become easier to come by. Just my $.02.
Although, I have no idea about that specific field of work.

Construction here is down 30-40% over last year. This is definitely not the place to be looking for skilled construction related employment.

Ya work is horrible right now and its just not here... We do commercial roof and floor structures and it is really bad right now. Main reason is that banks are not giving funding for projects. But I will keep an eye open for you.
