Autocross Feb 19th Sunday @ Sam Boyd!
There is an autocross this Sunday Feb 19th! Come out and show off your driving skills or come and learn how to drive your car!
For those that don't know what an autocross is (for those that know what it is ignore this paragraph ) Think about taking a big parking lot and lining it with cones in the form of a race track filled with small straights, tight and wide turns and slaloms and then flying through it Speeds rarely exceed 60-70mph. You'll keep it in 2nd gear through most of your run. It's a cheap, fun, and safe way to explore the limits of your car and a great introduction into motorsports and activities held by the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America www.scca.com)
Gates open at 7am.
Registration and tech till 8:30 then drivers meeting. (do not be late, you will not be allowed to run!)
First car out 9am.
Cost SCCA member $30 Non-members $40. If it's your first time it'll only be $20 bucks if your bring the flyer below.
Bring this to get 1/2 off if it's your first time...

It has a line that says SCCA Member Sponsor # you can enter in mine (320694) or that of any other SCCA members you know and you will get a coupon for $5 off your next autocross and earn me one also
If you forget the flyer I will have extras with me the day of the event
As always I'd like to see a strong turn out of people on this forum!
You can pre-register for the event by going to this link...
http://www.myautoevents.com/pls/mae/frmEve...113450326246383
Pre-registering will save you a lot of time on Sunday morning and it makes the event run much smoother! Remember that all Autocrosses are "Run-Work" events - meaning that if you plan to drive, plan to work - no exceptions.
When you pre-register if you're driving your S2000 it probably falls in one of these 3 classes.
AS: For a stock car to a almost stock car (the mods allowed are, upgraded exhaust, air filter, shocks, front sway bar, cg-lock, and better tires on stock sized rims. Anything else bumps you to bsp)
BSP: Basic bolt-on mods (intake, header, springs, etc)
SM2: If you have boost, gears, etc
If you have questions about any mods I'll be glad to answer them.
Location...
Sam Boyd Stadium Parking Lot
7000 E Russell RD
It's near Boulder Highway and East Russel road.
*optional* If you haven't already picked up a CG-Lock talk to JP (ludedude). If you don't know what the cg-lock is check out the review in this link...

If anyone else is remotely interested of has any questions feel free to post or PM me. So you can come join the fun...

The E30 M3 is by far my MOST favorite M3.... Solid proof that when a company wants to make a street legal race car... they can.
Love the development story behind the makings of the orininal M3 too. Something that's never been matched by any M cars since.

good course, the only downside was it being sooooo cold this morning. we had a few drops that came down but nothing that imo could severely affect times.
had about 3 or 4 S2k's show up but nobody that i recognised and karim was too much of a slacker and didn't make it out today, i believe there was a red one and 2 blacks maybe a silver too
next event is in april can't wait for boulder city though!!
