WTF does this sentence mean?

People work at an honest job for 30+ years and they are not supposed to be doing good? Who is leveraged?

There are many folks out there working their butts off, who did not live above their means who are getting laid off. They weren't the "fat" that needed to be trimmed.

It would be nice if you didn't assume everyone that is unemployed is "fat that needed to be trimmed" or was so stupid they were over leveraged.

You do generalize an awful lot.
I think he means the people who are not able to make home payments or sell the house because they are upside down.

Then he should clarify. He is well educated. He should be able to compose a sentence that makes his point clearly.

He's in FL, according to one of his posts....drinking I'll assume he's had one too many, but I know he got short changed in the compassion department.

Let em burn is his mantra.

Lainey, I just read the rest of the thread and saw the exchange. That really isn't like George. I can't imagine he meant that about people here.

Well, don't worry Lainey. I still have plenty of room here. You and Rick can have the guest room and set up a living room and kitchen in my basement. But Steve has to stay in the garage.

Probably not, but sorry to say the word elitist often comes to mind when I read his posts....

He says he can clean toilets and swing a hammer, well someday he might just get the chance again, what goes around comes around.

Thanks Bill. No need. Contrary to what George may think we are not among those who are over leveraged. We might even have done OK the last 30 years, even if we weren't supposed to....considering we didn't get those MBAs.
