Default A Philosophical Question

This is the question that I have been pondering all day: what happens to ice cream van drivers in the winter; do they bury a stash of 99 flakes during the warmer months and then hibernate like other summer favouring creatures?

Do they migrate to hotter climates?

Most make very little money indeed and are back home early.

A more philosopical one; Why should one mind deaf children any more than any other sort?

One can look at this two ways, Nick.........

My immediate response to your question is that I really don't mind deaf children at all, and I'll bitch slap anyone that says I do.

However, after more consideration and a general reappraisal of the question, I have concluded that deaf children have had a tough enough time already, and so an accident with an ice cream van might lead to further disabilities and that would be very unfair indeed.

I have also concluded that I must be a bloody genius to have worked that out.

Perhaps in winter they do sound proofing jobs using a layout of the ice-cream cones

That's an innovative theory, LL, but there seems to be little sign of this activity. Indeed, Google failed to produce any conclusive evidence of wafer based acoustic retardation.

However, the lack of evidence to support my own theory of hibernation does, by its very absence, suggest that ice cream men are dormant in the off season.

The question is, of course, still very much open, but I do feel that, so far, scientific enquiry is favouring my hypothesis. I shall, of course, remain open-minded and ready to receive your, or indeed, anyone's further representations.

Yours intellectually,

For goodness sake, think about it man; when have you ever looked into the sky on an early autumn evening to see a flock of white tunic-clad ice cream men riding the breeze southward.

THEY BLOODY WELL HIBERNATE! It's so obvious

I think all the girls are in the south already from what I've seen. Shame they have to hibernate when the summer work skirts go away...... *sigh*

I've gone off topic haven't I.......
