I like SQM based on their diversified business model. It has continued to ramp up for the past month since I found it and definitely has positive momentum going for it right now but like you said, the valuations are extremely high and the risk is great with this one.

I am not going to go chase this one but rather keep an eye for a nice pull back whenever that may be.

Down a few % today. What are you guys looking to buy at these levels? Last time we were under 12k I had over a dozen stocks I wanted to put money in to confidently, this time it's about 3-4 and their valuations aren't that 'corrected'.

Nothing I want to buy yet. Still keep an eye out and waiting for a bigger pull back. At the current prices, it's basically retracement to last weeks prices. If I'm buying agressively, I want early 2008 lows.

This time around, I will be buying more steel and ag.

The only issue with that is related to what I mentioned earlier. The majority of steel and ag names have not decreased in valuation substantially since the market decline-many have actually increased. This provides a missleading thinking process and often you'll just be chasing winners, in my experience anyways. Let me know what steel names you find if they have gotten cheaper.

Gotta love these informative posts. Would you care to elaborate on what you consider to be good choices to "buy, buy and buy"? Many thanks!

If you buy here you will probably want to sell Monday or Tuesday of next week. The market in general is VERY bearish and the consumer is dead. This is not the market to be buying all dips. We are in a recession and inflation is a problem.

If Isreal makes any moves with Iran I think the Dow could be in the 10,000s and oil will be over $150.

Israel is not doing anything with Iran, don't be ridiculous. Iran is negotiating an end to their Uranium enrichment program and Israel is in the middle of a truce with Hezbollah. This "news" is FUD created to manipulate the oil market.
