I know the stock market is very chaotic to say the least. General Motors (MTLQQ) looks enticing but it maybe awhile before I see any returns. What do you guys think?
What you know of as General Motors is not a public company at this time. They just filed their for their IPO a few days ago, and the IPO is a few weeks out.
MTLQQ is "Motors Liquidation Company." The OTC ticker MTLQQ is a penny stock that represents the bankrupt company that holds the remaining assets and debts of the bad parts of what used to be GM.
Do not buy shares of MTLQQ! MTLQQ holders will not get any IPO shares when the "new" GM goes public. If you want to own shares of the new GM, you must either 1) be a bond holder of the "old" GM or 2) wait for the new GM IPO.

on a side note. CSIQ is my goldmine bought it at 9.37 on margin in june. now its at 13.07 and climbing to; my educated guess would be 18 but getting out at 15.
Someone else here - I forget who, though I could uncover the name if I were ambitious enough - said that it would climb to $20 or $25 or some such by its next earnings report date. I wouldn't advocate holding one's breath.

RIMM is a $25 Billion company with a PEG of on 0.5 with 0 debt that is still growing revenue well into the double digits. It's one of the best value buys out there in the tech space right now.
I think that, within a year, RIMM will get acquired either in a direct buyout or via merger. BTW, this may sound crazy right now, but WHEN RIMM gets acquired, I think that Oracle may be the acquirer.

This "stealth" rally in tech has become a monster rally in tech.
I haven't bought or sold anything in many many months. (Maybe in more than a year??) But today my non retirement portfolio hit a new all-time high, blasting through the previous high set in spring of this year.
If anyone listened when I mentioned MIPS 3 weeks ago, you have had a good couple of weeks... It's up 32% in that period.
