Interesting that with the good news about the well being capped and all, BP is on a downward trend the past few weeks. Looks to be mostly a reflection of overall market movement, however.
I still don't see anything to suggest we'll see many upticks in the near future (on the order of a few months) beyond a few grasps at straws here and there. I think we might see another surge in the next round of quarterly earnings, which will show profits and improvements over last year, but then another drop once it's clear the improvements are mostly from cost-cutting, layoffs and the like.

We had a really nice stealth rally in the financials this week. But tech is still leading this market. A lot of the tech leaders are at or near 52 week highs.
FFIV has been on a ridiculous tear for months and has grown into the largest hold in my non-retirement portfolio. The mobile/embedded chip designers ARMH and MIPS have also been really hot recently. I think MIPS in particular has a lot of room to the upside as they are just starting getting into smart phone CPUs now.

I currently have a small percentage of my portfolio invested in POT. I bought in at 100 before all the talks off BHP acquiring POT. Now that it is at 148 per share, is there any point of holding on to POT or should I just sell it since it will just idle around the 148 mark for awhile.
Only point I can see for holding on to is trying to meet the 1 year capital gains mark for lower taxes and possibility of a higher bid to 170. Either way, my position is only 5% of my total portfolio, so either way the effects are immaterial.
Sell it and use the funds for something else?

I know the stock market is very chaotic to say the least. General Motors (MTLQQ) looks enticing but it maybe awhile before I see any returns. What do you guys think?

fishs2000's request for penny stocks (as well as Mocky's and GRUNTS2K's replies) have been deleted. We don't discuss penny stocks here. It's in the rules.
