People will quickly forget about BP and it will normalize back around $60-70 imo. Lawsuits and cleanup costs won't have much effect imo.

bought BP at 30 and sold at 37.75, taking my profit and running. There are other opportunities to be had, and better stocks to be purchased.

BP has to deal with killing the well, lawsuits from industries effected by the oil spill (not to mention people getting sick from the oil), and stricter drilling standards (possible drilling offshore ban) which effects the whole oil industry.

It will take a LONG time for BP to reach the 60-70 per share mark (my opinion)

wouldn't XOM be a safer play, since it's near 52 week low?

Yes, XOM is a buy. I bought that in the 56-57 range. I believe we will see higher oil prices as the economy ramps upv= win for oil companies. Plus XOM stopped being the bad guy, as politicians used to cite the salaries of exxon CEO's in a target against big oil. Now BP is the bad guy.

I suck at picking stocks. I don't have a lot invested so it's fun to play with. Two years ago I bought 100 shares of GU at $3.40 and 100 shares of MTSXY at $.56. All because I saw Metal Storm on Discovery. Just sold at $.77 and $.20 respectively. Lost about $350. Took the $100 I had left and picked up some CGC thanks to someone's advice on here. Gold seems like a good idea. Hope I don't jinx it.

Agreed, I bought in at $29. All of my liberal AltE friends gave me shit, but hey money's money...
