I have been doing buy writes on Altria for two years now and it has worked nearly perfect. The difference is Altria has a fat dividend and not the same volatility, but the concept is the same.

Not I. I sold nearly everything into bonds/fixed income stuff a few weeks ago, and while it's low enough to justify buying (the whole buy low/sell high thing) I think there's a bit more things have to fall.
I still don't see anything to give me a lot of optimism in the long-term though. We'll see...

little FYI for all those holding MO KFT PG KO or any other dividend yeilding stock.
tax rates are returning to pre 2001 levels at the end of 2010. so, no more 15% tax on dividends, instead it will be taxed at ordinary income levels. something to consider.
