^^^ URE is not up that much. It just underwent a 5 into 1 reverse split overnight. So you have 1/5th the shares, but each is worth 5x as much as yesterday.

UYG - same thing but a 10:1 reverse split. So if you look at some finance sites today, you will see UYG +904%!!!! W00t! ...But then you realize the site is just miscalculating because of the split, and it's "only" up 4%.

I like tech stocks. And I like to invest in companies that I know and understand.

I hate Apple. I do not like or use their products. I don't understand why people buy seemingly overpriced Apple products, and I do not understand why people love them. I always avoided their stock because of that, even as I watched Apple go from $10/sh to over $100 as people bought overpriced MP3 players from them.

But when the market crashed, I bought a sizable chunk of Apple in late 2008 at under $80/sh. I'm very glad that I did, and I still am holding all of my original Apple purchase. But I still don't understand why the iPhone sells so well, especially in light of the seemingly-superior-in-every-way Google/Droid phones out now...
