GM Stock might have actually been an interesting investment if your brokerage allows you to request the paper stock certificates. Buy the pieces of worthless paper for $1 or less and then sell the certfificates individually on ebay for $5+ each.
People made quite a bit of money doing this with companies like MCI Worldcom and Enron... I would think the collectability value of GM certificates would be even higher.

Currently long USD, metals and ammo. Mildly short equities and the dollar (yes, I know I said long USD, but I'm hedging with UDN...crazy times call for crazy measures). Likely adjusting some or all of those positions next week.
I increased my position in metals by decreasing my USD position last week. I'm still not convinced either way whether we're going to experience more deflation or hyper-inflation...or maybe the first followed by the latter, which I believe has happened historically in similar conditions. Regardless, I'd rather have the metal than the paper in these conditions.
Next week's $104 billion auction should be interesting. Go Ben!
Long run, we're screwed. All those green shoots are weeds sprouting up in front of unemployed peoples' foreclosed homes. Media and gov spinning "less bad" as a sign of recovery is a ****ing joke. There is no recovery. I'm just trying to play the collapse, but it's tough to do when markets appear to be manipulated. But I'm thinking that the PPT can only do so much before reality (math) overrides them.
Maybe I'm wearing tin foil. But yesterday's tin has ended up being today's reality. Nothing would surprise me.
We'll see...

I just went to Walmart, Sports authority, Big 5, and two local gun shops and no one has ammo in stock saying US army gets priority. Business must be good for some one?
