I'm trying to convince my GF to throw a few grand in the market after this rally is over, and we see low 7000's high 6000's... So far not so good

Anyone play around with the 3x ETFs, particularly FAZ and FAS? I've been dabbling for about a week. Very volatile day trading instruments with potential for large quick profits, and even faster losses...

There is a time and place for those ultra leveraged funds. I have played around with the 3x's you've mentioned but feel there are better options which would require less hedging and steadier/more predictable return. That and I don't follow the Russell typically.
