If you don't have a stomach for the market you should stick to Mutual funds. Yeah your making only 200 bucks a month on CD but at least it's safe. Until you know how to invest into stocks and what your willing to lose. I would stay away from the market at least IMO.

Lets put it this way, What would you do if you lost 20K out of 80k? I lost XXXX.00k in aapl just in three weeks in Jan but was in AAPL for longterm, so the short term loses I didn't care.

Right now a CD would be a better bet. Even with a low yield you still have the state of mind that your money won't lose value. In actuality a CD is more than likely paying below the rate of inflation while the dollar is declining in value, meaning you are losing money. If you choose this option make sure you put your money into a bank that is going to be around in 12 months.

I don't think this crisis is even close to being over.

please leave your money where it is, exit this thread, and go read a crap load of books and learn about the market / stocks / funds / gains / losses before you do anything

you will be happy you did and that CD is just fine for right now

I just bought some at 14.50 just cuz I couldn't handle seeing that big -40 percent loss lol.... now its only at a -20 percent loss.
