stockae92: yes. That is how it goes. The best way to judge a market is by how it handles bad news. We've have about the worst news ever in the last week and the market didn't go down. That's a sign investors are in general satisfied the market is fairly valued.

pearl: It will mean less cyclical volatility because Apple will be free of the expectations that go with it. The new year speculation and volatility will ease.

I picked up BAC in low $14's last week, just figuring on the upcoming rate cut and how it was despised. I haven't had the guts to pick up stocks that were so hated before (missed buying F at $1.25 despite drooling over it). Time to try something different and a housing turn could make Countrywide look like genius. I'm not expecting the dividend to be safe.

Watch out for the second wave of mortgage defaults.

furthermore....watch the dollar sink into the abyss.

This is rediculous.

I hold gold, silver, oil, oversea companies now...etc.

ATVI has been dead money even with the market picking up lately. Any thoughts on this? I still have a great long term projection for this company and would like to get a small position started.

MO is getting beat up like no other lately also.
I own both of them, MO is a small position and I got in about a buck above where it is now. It's just for income so not a major concern.

ATVI on the other hand has grown into quite the position. The price action had me concerned so I ended up selling some at 10$ thinking I was losing an easy dollar for getting out "early". I got stopped out of 1/3 of my positon at 9.50. Within a couple days electronic arts came out with horrendous numbers and sure enough ATVI went even lower. I bought back that 1/3 of that position. No debt, 2-3 in cash per share, I'm not afraid. AAPL has taking a killing as well. Being heavy into oil has paid off though, sold some more BP near 50 today up 20%.

Overall this has been an ugly week in my long term account, SRS got blasted and I bought more in the low 50's today. In heavier than I'm comfortable with at the moment. Cost basis is only 9 higher than where it closed so I'm still OK.

Who thinks POT is on its way back up?? I wanted to get in when it was in the low 60's but was still scared to pull the trigger... now I may have missed the best opportunity to buy. But still wondering if its worth it at this point. Still a good price comparatively speaking but no clue how it'll play long.
I trade this at work more than any other stock. The run has been staggering. One of my longer charts (10 day) has POT going from 47 to almost 87. You do NOT want to buying right here. I wouldn't buy higher than 67 under almost any circumstances.

That 2xx price is gone, it's history. Using that as your planned out makes about as much sense as expecting RIG or X to back to 200. Wouldn't bet on it anytime soon.

You must be suffering a great deal of pain then. My sympathies.

The VIX is dropping off a cliff right now. I wonder if that will be a double top at 80 for it.
