How does DIG rally when oil price falls 4.4%?
I'd suggest learning what compenents make up the ETFs you trade; much less ultra ETFs.

DIG:
TOP 10 HOLDINGS ( 60.15% OF TOTAL ASSETS)
Company Symbol % Assets
APACHE CP APA 2.09
CHEVRON CORP CVX 9.83
CONOCOPHILLIPS COP 6.46
DEVON ENERGY CP (OK) DVN 2.34
EXXON MOBIL CP XOM 23.61
HALLIBURTON CO HAL 2.12
MARATHON OIL CORP MRO 1.76
OCCIDENTAL PET OXY 3.58
SCHLUMBERGER LTD SLB 6.16
TRANSOCEAN INC RIG 2.2

I don't see "oil" in there anywhere.

If the market rallies, DIG is going up.

Yea I know, it's just funny how the market moves in unison these days regardless of a company's prospects and demand for its products (iPhones, cars, copper, oil, whatever).

I agree with Penforhire: "Yeah, all my research feels like so much toilet paper lately. Fundamentals? Sh'yea."

Online spending at U.S. retailers jumped 15 percent on Dec. 1 to $846 million, the second-biggest amount on record, as Internet sites lured customers with discounts on clothing and electronics, ComScore Inc. said. - Bloomberg

Interesting......

I'm so surprised that the market open down 200 points and rally back up 400 points to end at the day 170. I'm guessing some mutual funds and hedge fund manager are slowly buying back into the market because they don't want to miss out on the rally.

If we get a rally tomorrow then I might think twice about shorting the market. But for now, it seems that we're in a good position to have a leg down.

Picking which days to short/go long is almost impossible, and certainly impossible over the long term. Playing a range with an appropriate bias is feasible but still difficult. I am even on my SDS position from last wed. but my long positions haven't recovered.
