I was down 16% at the end of Sept, but Oct was another story! Now down about 30%. I'm still lying low as far as putting any serious money in the market right now. I kept the monthly allotment to my investment company, but it's not major. My major investment in the past 1.5 years has been in remodeling the kitchen and guest bath in my condo. That will pay off big time where I am located. And I get the benefit of living in a nicer place while it does.

The market is out of control! The only thing that could explain bouncing this far off the daily low is shorts covering before the big G20 meeting this weekend.

We had a 900 point swing yesterday. What's so special about a 500 point swing today? There have been lots of them in the last month in fact. It's a cheap rollercoaster with the wheels only loosely screwed on.

That's because this market operates strictly off emotions. There is no way to make any decisions using fundamental analysis, that has gone by the wayside. Hedge funds and insiders can swing the market at will.

does anyone know about investing on the Dow Jones average? i dont even know if this is something you can do, its just something my dad is saying he has heard about. Basically instead of buying stocks on a particular company you buy in at whatever the entire Dow average is and if that average goes up or down is how you make or lose money.

DXD = Short Dow
