I bought GM at $9.35 and sold it 3 weeks later at $14.60. Would I buy it here? Maybe.
All I can suggest is that you avoid jumping in too quickly or get too exuberant about the bottom being in. It is in but we still have to test it. Any rally here will be tested shortly. I'd want to see some sellers come in and put pressure on the market.

Taking a gamble on APWR after reading summaries of today's conference call. Bought a few hundred shares.
Company announced a new $300m contract with Thailand - I didn't hear of this one previously. This is in addition to the $800m in backlogged orders.
No Q/A, and from what I've read, many people are wondering why the company isn't buying back shares. The current $5/share price is just slightly more than the $3/share cash they have on hand. Not sure I agree with a buyback during these market conditions, cause you never know when the company will need cash given the tight credit conditions.
Looking for a short term bounce to the $7 range. This is typically not my thing, but it's hard to see this company going below $3 share since they have that much cash on hand. I'd still like to hold a couple hundred shares for my long term portfolio, however.

MIDD is another stock I'm looking to buy, long term and short term. I imagine they're probably not doing so well given the consumer slowdown, but the management (Bassoul) is top notch. I'm a bit concerned given their large amount of short term debt, but I'd still buy up to $50/share in these conditions.
By the way, someone up to date on the solar sector? YGE and STP are kicking my ass, though I took another look at the balance sheet and think both are decently positioned (STP more so than YGE). I realize there is concern that solar installations/development will be hampered by the credit crunch, and solar subsidies are being slashed in Germany and Spain, two of the largest solar markets, but seriously... anybody think these two are going bust?
