I am seeing signs of capitulation today but not enough fear to want to be buying.

The vix is back over 20 but the difference between the last two times this happened is that people aren't afraid. They expect this to occur and are ready to face it. Picked up some C but hedged with GG and NOV against my other longs of ATVI, YUM, etc. I don't know where we are headed but I know if you don't have a plan B it could get ugly.

Stupid of me to think with crude & products hitting new record highs that energy stocks would be green today. That sector is just as ugly as everything else, I suppose proving that you need the commodity and not the company that makes or services the commodity.

I agree. I'm uncomfortable investing in any equity right now, no matter the sector. Hence my choice to use ETFs to essentially go long crude and short the dow.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the dow in four digits by year's end. Crude is simply hammering it.

Yes, easy to say on a day like today. But even with some bounces the long term looks bleak.
