I also suspect OPEC to cut production soon or at $80/barrel. But if there is a strong enough demand destruction.....who knows.
guessing short term prices is difficult. Here is one person explaining his view through technical analysis....a lot of oil traders use technical analysis during trading.

But his technical analysis also coincides very well with the theory of when peak oil is supposed to occur.

HOLY CRAP. I was actually doing alright about 2 weeks ago. Break even/slightly up for the year. Now, I'm down ~35%. Crazy times. The bottom fell out of everything I own. UA, COH, STP, YGE, MKL, AXP, MR, and others. Never thought I'd see AAPL's P/E in the teens, or GOOG's in the low 20s. No point in selling out now. If the economy goes under, cash is worthless anyway.

If/when they do a big rate cut I'm going to put so many thousand lots into the FDIC-news-controlled-b$-market I'm going to make up my losses for the year in one trade. I have to eat lunch at my damn computer if I have any short positions open because of that looming threat.
