Need help finding an auto loan
ive been calling different banks trying to find one who offers loans for private party purchases for a car that's a 2004 or newer. every bank I've contacted so far will only do an auto loan with a dealer and then on top of that, most of them wont finance a car that is more than ~7 years old. does anyone know a financial institution that might offer such a loan?
side note: i'd prefer not to do a personal loan since its about 3%+ higher rate than the auto loans ive seen advertised.
not sure if this was the right forum to put this in so feel free to move it if necessary. thanks in advance for any help

I tried them and walked away a little unhappy. I told the loan officer what I was financing and how much I wanted to finance. It was a low mileage S2000 that was worth more than “blue book” or NADA average due to the low mileage. After going through the entire process and going so far as opening an account with them, I was told they could not finance the amount I was asking and I was going to have to double my cash down to get it where they needed. I was pissed that I had wasted days of back and forth with them. Just my personal experience.
I wound up taking a personal loan out from a local federal credit union and found it MUCH easier. Of course, the interest rate is higher because it’s not a traditional auto loan but I liked the simplicity and the fact that I have the title.
