You are suppose to add your opinion there buddy!!!
I have talked to to Steve and Angel about this before seeing as they both have had BMW's and I thought they might want to share their opinion

I love both cars but they r very different. I had a 2002 330I BMW (sorry not the m3) with the performance package/manual transmission for around 40K (non-convertible). BTW if u order your car from BMW, they r fantastic at giving u a web address so u can follow the production of your car in Germany, transport to US and delivery to dealer. Without question the BMW was the best engineered car I have ever had (and I have had some nice cars). I traded the car + $5k in after about 3 years/6k miles 4 the S. For me the S is much more fun to drive and to tinker with. The bmw was great for double dates and cruising and going to block buster etc. but not as much fun to drive as the S. Keep in mind that I love the top down and if I were going to get another BMW it would have to be topless. It is interesting how people treat u differently by the car u drive. For example my son (in his civic) wanted to test drive an evo and the dealer would not let him. He borrowed my bmw went to another dealer and they let him drive it by himself! One last thing is that bmw's r common and I never had a stranger actually start up a conversation about my bmw, as 4 the s everybody wants to talk with me about the car. They r both great but very different.

I added about 50 cents worth of opinions.
Think about this...an M3, let's say an 04 with less than 10,000 miles can bring in $ 40,000 easy...an S2000 that fits similar criteria would only bring about $ 27,000 tops....so, to me is a NO brainer. $ 13-15,000 in my pocket...sell the M3, get another s2000 and have $14,000 worth of mullah to play with or to re-invest or to get a bike or to pay Pamela Anderson to wash my cars and polish my shoes...

The title of the thread should have been S over the 3, but of course a straight trade for say an 04/05 E46... anyone w/ or w/o a left testicle would trade.
