I keep hearing good things about Dubai, but I don't know why I didn't think of Bahrain! I'll have to look into that!! My friend said that once you're over there, travel is quite cheap.

Bahrain is nice for a bit of olde worlde Middle East charm...
...which really grates after a while, for me anyway.
Dubai is cool but many of the external things to do become redundant as the temperature rises - 40C + now.
