Hi there,

I was wondering if any of the S2000 owners in Dubai had fixed/replaced their soft top convertibles?

need some guidance.

Thank you

Iv got a very tiny tear on my soft top and wanted to get either a patch or rePlace the section with a new one. But also if U no of an upholstery place who does convertibles I wouldn't mind changing the whole thing..

Thanks
Aziz

Aziz, i had the very same problem with my soft top. it is a very common issue among all s2k's and it is due to one of the round part within the soft top frame having a slight pointed edge. I came across a honda circular also which gave guidelines of how to get rid of the pointed edge.

anyways, i have patched up the cut on my car, and it has been sealed properly and the cut is hardly visible. If your soft top is in good condition other than the cut, I'd suggest to do the patch work as i was quoted a very high rate for replacing the soft top. If you are free this week, i can come along with you to the shop.

By the way, did you buy the car recently? I noticed at a number of places where you placed an ad for "want to buy"

All S2k owners have the same problem, some more than others depending how often you open and close your soft top and how much its parked under direct sunlight. I changed mine the first time under warranty. I don't think you'll find a cheaper quote than 4k, and you have the risk of quality. So I have decided to completely remove the soft top including mechanism and save some weight.

I also need to change the seat upholstery if anyone knows a good shop in Dubai.
