See, you can rent a small apartment, studio maybe next to Warqa on Emirates road, for 650-700$ per month, that will be very good. You can watch more movies, sleep more, less abusing the car etc.

Actually I am staying with my family for free...using the savings on rent to save up for some freehold studio appt. close to Dubai Marina in approx. 1 year's time.

Gas usage: approx 3/4 of a tank per day @ 50dhs a day or 1200-1500 Dhs a month.

But as I said, on a good or average day it's more like 1.5 hours each way which is not much worse than some ppl have just going to Deira!

Abusing the car is the only problem...I think I must put about 3000km on it every month, so I am a bit worried about how a brand new s2k will feel after a year of that.

PS RAK is a beautiful place, very chilled out and very near to those Musandam roads
