Default CAI

Hey all..
first off..this forum seems like the heats getting to all the soft top people

anyhoo..needed some advice.

First off, im planning to put in a cold air intake..probably around september since theres no point having it in the summer. Which one would be good, but not burn a hole in my pocket? and where can i get it done?

Second, the H badge on the bonnet; can this be removed? ie. i know that theres two pins at the back, but i wanted suggestions on how to make it look ok without spenidng shitloads on welding and repainting. I got the ones at the back and sides removed, since the bodyshop was doing up the dents on insurance, but they said theyd charge me for the front, and it would be about AED 1200. maybe a replacement idea like those Ricks2k.com badges that i could find in Dubai?

Third, any1 want to buy a four month old Kenwood Slide out touchscreen with a DVD player? along with some alpine 6X9 110 watt rms speakers?

about the intake, their all the same sh!t get what ever you like.

i just got my self new H carbon fiber badges for front and back, i THINK it looks good im not sure actually, but ricks S badges are nice as well and theres no need for painting and all that...

i dont know how the garages are in UAE but in bahrain they can fill those two pin holes easily and use some touch up paint

1200 hundred dirhams for shaving the badge holes?!!?!?!

Front bumper is ABS plastic, if you remove the badge you will have to fill the holes with bumper repair kit and then paint the whole bumper.

CAI ... Dont get the ones which will travel under the bumper (V2 and Injen) ... killer to clean and here it gets very dusty. Get something which is IN the engine compartment but yet routed away from the engine.

ARC, J's Racing... or consider a spoon snorkle on the stock airbox ... BEST thing to do if you are driving your car daily.

With CAI, heat and traffic you will get problems of car boging down. Arfi and i used to face it alot.

I have to agree with Umair. The only way to "shave" the holes is to fill them in and paint the whole part (bumper+trunk) and that would indeed cost 1200DHS.

You can order OEM painted plugs from the us or just get some nicer badges.

For the intake, a fake or authentic snorkel is your best bet.

judging by the expressions you use and questions you ask, I dont even want to try to explain you how a snorkel works
