That insurance thing is ridiculous. I work with a guy that it happened to. He got pulled and for something else and the cop came back and said his license was suspended. He had no idea. It was over insurance as well.
I hope everything works out for you.

Insurance has nothing to do with your license being suspended. Blame the State for that.

Man that sucks. As for the insurance... Even though your car is registered in Florida, you're supposed to be insured in whatever state/city you are in.

My car is registered in Illinois, but the insurance has nothing to do with that. My insurance is for where I live.
that is true. but not all true.

You insurance is based off where your vehicle is registered as far as minimums. your premium is based off where your car is parked the majority of the year. My car WAS registered in VA and I had to carry Va insurance minimums. Got my car registered in NC and has to change all my insurance over to NC minimums (Which required me to carry more insurance) BUT they also had to know that my car was going to be in VA the majority of the year which affected price a little. As far as this ticket, it depends on if you report it to your insurance company or if your ins. co. regularly pulls your driving record to determine your premium.

As far as your ticket.... it is a misdemeanor and can carry jail time. Get an lawyer. If your license is suspended here in VA you will most likely be charged with that as well. Keep in mind you can have a FL issued license and it be suspended in VA and your license will still be "valid" with the exception of driving in VA. Do some research, pull your VA driving record, and get ready for some community service!

Joe,
Insurance can follow you but you must call and tell your carrier that you are moving to another state. Because I do know Florida minimum liability coverages (10/20) are lower than Virginia (20/40) so you must meet that states minimum requirements to be legal. In other words you are underinsured. Get on that ASAP!

BTW JOE CALL 222-3400 and get a quote and use my referral code 133798. We take care of our military. Ask Pete, Dustin, or Bear. You may be paying to much.

T
DId that emanage work for you man? What was your final HP if so?

Thanks for all the info guys. Stories of reckless are the best though to give me an idea of the forth-coming punishment.

As for the insurance i will be fixing that between tomorrow and wed when i get back from underway.

As for the fines and punishments, i am pretty sure i will be okay. I am hoping to have it knocked down to Improper Driving due to that I have a good record, i was very cooperative with the officer, and i can lay the pipe. I dont know if that last one helps. But i hope the judge will take it into account.
