Wishing Janet (+1) Luck!

Thank you all! At my father's side family reunion this past summer, we had the entire Merryman side... all 14 of us! I cannot be more sincere than when I say that you all are my extended family and a few are even closer. I am fortunate to have a life-partner that allows me my hobby(s). I am even luckier in that she actually willingly and enthusiastically participates in this one!
I am happy to report that Janet's( _+1 ) surgery today seems to have gone very well. We are actually at home now. That was an unexpected blessing as my scheduled child care provider(mother-in-law) is sick with the flu. We had to take the bambinos with us.
In a nutshell, the chances of this being her last surgery for quite some time seem great. If not, it'll probably be around 4-5 years before another such procedure. Six more months of antibiotics to keep the risk of any live bacteria/crud from re-infecting that area. While the process of getting back to "Janet" will be a long one, the immediate physical condition is in check and steps have been taken to minimize the risk of the abscess resurfacing.
Jan 10 at Jeff's may still be a little early for my co-pilot. She may still make it. I'm hoping that she will be able to start driving in February.
Again, thank you for all the concerns, well-wishes, and prayers. I will tell Janet about this thread tomorrow. I don't know why she is sleeping so much. Can you say M-O-R-P-H-I-N-E? V-I-C-O-D-I-N?

In my best possible Steve Martin impersonation for his character in Dirty Rotten Scroundrels when he asks if he may go to the bathroom while dining with a guest and is told he may [pause: rolls eyes with pleasure and then in a most satisfied and calm voice replies] , "Thank you."
