What are you so worried about with just a maintenance light?

good luck with the oil change.

the MIL is an idiot light (no offense)

the CEL (Check Engine Light) is what you need to worry about.

oh........
That makes me feel a little bit better.

In my wifes old Camaro her maintance required light came on and she ignored it and less then 2k miles later her engine caught fire.

Guess I'm just being overly cautious/paronoid.

better to be overly cautious than not at all... but yeah the MIL just lets you know when you need an oil change/mileage tuneup, etc

Her engine was punishing her for not having the oil changed.

Sorry to make light of the situation but it is most likely just due for service. Congrats again on your recent purchase.

There is also instructions on how to turn it off in the manual, if you do the maintenance yourself or somewhere else.

SWEET! Any pics?

I'm picturing a late-80s Camaro (the pinnacle of Camaro design) with flames and smoke pouring out the sides of the hood.
