Who drove the S to work today?

Matt, being a fellow Cliftonite I know exactly what you are talking about. I had to go extremely slow and even then I could feel the rear getting loose. My first set of S02's had me hydroplaning in the rain on several occassions, mostly on the highway which is pretty scary.

I drove the S to work today 12 DEC.
And Poindexter and Dave drove their S's up to my neck of the woods to scout the route for Sunday's drive.
No snow in Hampton Roads. I know you northern VA guys are jealous . . . but it is so unbecoming.

And to make matters worse - we drove with the top down

D'oh!!!
Looks like I went to the well one too many times. Today, after a relatively weak snow storm last night, I decided that I could make it in to work. The S is my only car so I really had no choice.
Apparently Fairfax County decided not to do anything with the roads in Clifton. Once I got on Henderson road all the trouble began. At about 5mph in 1st gear my ass end decided it wanted to lead. At this point I am now looking at the car behind me as he politely swerves into a sidestreet to avoid hitting me as I continue my way off the road into a small ditch/shoulder. I got out of the car to inspect the car and luckily no damage. The guy behind me was cool and wanted to make sure I was okay. It was at that point that I decided there was no way I would be able to make it up and down the windy hills of Clifton safely and decided to go home. I was able to get the car back on the rode after a ton of wheel spinning.
Now headed back the way I came I reach the top of a hill and stop. Ahead of me the road dips and turns into another larger hill that has 4 cars turned sideways. I get out of my car and tell the people behind me, all in SUV's, that they are welcome to pass me since I need to wait for the cars to clear out so I can build momentum without having to worry about hitting someone that is stuck in a ditch. Meanwhile, the woman whose house I am parked infront of comes out and tells me that I have no shot of getting up the hill. She said she tried three times and gave up, she then pointed to her house. She couldn't even get back in her driveway properly. Her car slid off her driveway and right through her front yard. "I'm just happy I didn't hit the house", she said.
No Sh!t!! That would've really sucked.
After the sideways cars clear out, one of which is a Volvo who has given up and just parked in someone's driveway, the SUV's behind me easily made their way up the hill. I then decided that I would attempt the hill and just needed some momentum. I was doing well until about halfway up the hill, , there goes the back end again. I get the car stopped and backed into a driveway on the hill to wait for something, anything, I really didn't know. I walked up the hill and talked to the guy in the Volvo and he said he was going to wait for the salt truck to come by and then try again, meanwhile all the SUV's are pointing and laughing at the little silver S2000 sitting on the side of the road.
Eventually the salt truck came and I drove up the center of the hill and was able to get to work the round about way 2 hours late.

That sucks E-Heezy! Glad it wasn't worse. As I am sitting at my house watching the snow gradually falling harder, I am becoming more and more convinced that I am not driving anywhere today!

Eric- glad there was no damage!
Last February, Janet and I became very acquainted with the consequnces of driving S-02's in an icestorm. Hair-raising experience coming back from a small meet in the Hampton area.
