you want to stay away from shopping centers (usually near main roads, and cops drive by or chill in the parking lots)
Yeah, don't try the parking lots at Krispy Kream....

hmm.... I see....
oh well. I give up. I just wanted to try few skid pad runs before my first autox..

My lack of near-the-limit driving experience has been holding me from joining the autox...I think it would be very embarassing if I do bad at first time..

Don't worry about it, everyone does bad the first time. Just have fun and don't let the ego get in the way (because there is ALWAYS someone faster than you even when you get good).

Unless you're Schumacher :-D

Seriously though... Just go out to it and have fun... I seriously thought it was fruity and slow and yada yada, but then I went and saw one, didnt even participate, but just saw one and I was like oh wow, this seems like it would be a lot of fun...

So just do it for the sake of enjoyment, not as some hardcore competition... : thumbup :

Jeremy, i saw someone practicing last weekend at Centreville HS as i drove by. looks like they have a decent sized lot, and the school grounds are far enough away from homes that i don't think you'll be bothering anyone.
Yeah, I have taken her out to practice at South Lakes HS and at a nearby office park as well. Centreville HS is really near her house, so that's a good call too. I just need a donor car now. No WAY is she learning in the S.
