Default Wheels getting black

Hey guys,

It may sound stupid, but my front wheels turn black after i drive my car for a while. Is it because of the brake dust or what ??

I clean them everyday but after every drive, i hate to see them BLACK again.

Any suggestions. I only have 25k miles on my car so is it time to change the brakes ?

Brake dust.

If you have OEM AP2 pads, they dust A LOT. Give AP1 pads a try.

Akebono brake pads zero dust in all my cars, good initial cold bite, easy to modulate and good high heat tolerance. Plus I heard that's what they use in AP1 but I have no evidence of that.

Quit getting your wheels dirty! You're supposed to use your emergency brake to stop!

some dust is normal, depending on pads, as said. Check to see maybe your pads are dragging on the front, that can cause an abnormal amount of dust. This happens due to the stuck caliper. See if your left and right wheels produce the same amount of dust and if they radiate the same amount of heat when you come to the stop.
