I'm still listening and I want *EVERYONE* to know that I'm an objective listener. I hear Gregg and Hiro loud and clear -- and their point is valid. The last thing I am interested in doing is splintering our family. I won't add more here...I'll just keep catching folks views through this thread. Again, this thread is just an idea at this point. Obviously one I am willing to offer my services towards...but only as an effort to benefit, not cause additional problems, to our members.

As you consider this, both its pros & cons, also consider suggesting any alternatives. I *know* I enjoy organizing meets...that's a given. Whether that need express itself to the level of my working within the framework of a "more localized" Club is certainly debatable. Keep talking folks...

Thanks,
Dave

I'M in favor of having a group just to ourselves, but i don't believe we have the traffic or members to support the cause.

To split off from the Mid-Atlantic Group, i think we are actually doing a disservice to ourselves, by separating from the group. What goes on in NOVA might not affect us, nor would what happens here affect those in Nova or MD, but we have seen people attend meets in both. If we managed to have more involvement and more members, i would say yes, lets have our own group, but because frankly, i don't see the forum filling up with information, meets or gatherings.

Virginia is not that big of a state to start splitting off... hmmm... reminds me of the Civil War. *flashbacks!!!argh***

I am sure if we started doing events, people would start becoming interested. Say, meets at the local honda, or some important gathering, but unless we do something besides lunch and a drive, we need to find something that will captivate the entire Mid-Atlantic group.....

Let's give w1ngman his own forum so he'll stop cluttering up the Mid-Atlantic Forum Just kidding of course Dave

I think there will always be small clubs within larger clubs like there is in Richmond, NOVA/MD/DC area etc. as the natural leaders (gregg, airgate, w1ngman, Rick etc) take charge and organize events, but a seperate forum might be going too far. I actually like to read the Richmond related threads, and hope to one day get down there for a meet. I would probably not go into a seperate Richmond forum to read posts, but do enjoy reading these posts in MA forum.

If we're concerned about the demographics in a Mid-Atlantic Forum vs. a Central Va forum, how about we see some numbers? It would be interesting to see how we stack up against the other states in the Forum. I know that here in Central Va (Richmond more specifically), we have a large (maybe abnormally large) number of S2000's in the area. Maybe it is a 'Richmond' thing we're feeling...

I, also, fully support Dave in the Moderator position... he's been nothing but friendly and inviting to everyone in any post I've seen from him.

Not sure I DO know what you mean Nevertheless, I've enjoyed meeting a whole bunch of MD/NOVA, SOVA and Carolina folks... and have only one comment: The proliferation of forums does make it hard to keep in touch with your neighboring groups [but that's probably a minor issue].
