Want to test drive your s2k

absolutely have to part my car out and move it before I get into anything else. that is my dillema right now. If I can part mine out and sell it I can get into an s2k and either break even of it'll cost me very little. That is what I'm trying to do right now.
Still need to go for a test drive b/c I could turn out to hate it (very unlikely)

Why not go through the credit check for 10 minutes and take one for a drive? It's not like it touches your credit score for more than a couple of months, and even then it's only a handful of points. If your credit is so poor that they won't let you take it for a test drive, do you really think you should be trying to afford the car anyway?

Picky dealerships down there I guess. I went to try and test drive a Lotus at Criswell in Gaithersburg and was quickly turned down. I had been there before and went on a test drive and the young salesman bounced it off two curbs before I was able to drive it. I wanted a rematch, even in the same, now repaired Exige S, but they told me "we don't want to put miles on the cars" and "come back when you are closer to buying". Douchebags.
I figured, why not try an S2000, and found a used 2004 model down in Rockville at the Darcars Jeep dealer. I asked about it and the guy immediately got the keys and asked if I wanted to drive it. My gf and I went on a 25 minute test drive with no more than a copied drivers license. They only wanted $19k and it had 26k miles, but a few small dents and some curb rash made me shy away. I was amazed at the complete lack of torque (lol, my previous mustang had 380 lb-ft) but the shifter was the best I'd ever felt and the handling was great. Seemed very smooth for such a tight suspension and very easy to drive.
