Default VMSC autocross in Richmond at VMP March 29th

Is anyone here planning or thinking about going to the VMSC autox on March 29th at VMP? There are 3 S2ks pre-registered for it on myautoevents.com right now and I'm considering making the trip up for it (5 hours from school but home is Charlottesville so its a weekend trip for me).

I haven't done a VMSC event before, has anyone done one or been to Virginia Motorsports Park (VMP)? how is the surface there?

I will be there. The other s2k's are bob and wes. Bob is on the forum here, I don't think wes is. VMSC runs a good event. I have only been to their events at RIR which were fun. It'll be worth the trip for you unless its raining...

Surface is completely flat, other than the slope for run off and settling of asphalt. For the amount of loose particles (sand and such) on the surface, it has quite a bit of grip. If I had to guess I'd say the lot is 125 yrds x 400 yrds and at most events its all used.

I'll have to see what I've got going on this weekend. If enough s2ks are going it might make it worth the trip.

VMP is a good course. VMSC is a good group, you will have a good time. I usually go but I can't this weekend.

I will be going. I am sure I will be the slow since this will be my first time out in the S. Last year I ran a subaru at most of the vmsc events. AS Fan said vmp is a fun place to run. It is the bigger of the two places vmsc tends to run.

hmmm rain in the forcast, that seems bad. Its a long drive for me so if thre is a high chance of heavy rain, I'm not sure if I'll make it. I am registered at this point though, and if it seems like it'll be dry then I'll be there for sure.

I have run there twice with them in my speed three and routinly would hit over 60 on some of the stretches, very fast tracks can be placed there.....rain looks likely so I'll probably not be running the s. I may swing by to hangout though

I just did a all day rain event 2 weeks ago, miserable. I think I'll be sitting this one out.
