Yeah, I'd like to know what mods cause issues, too. Just moved to VA and haven't dealt with inspection yet.

The state inspection really isn't too crazy.

You don't have emissions testing unless you are in one of the counties listed here:

Mostly northern VA area.

It honestly depends on the shop. I have been to some where they look at brakes, tires, blinkers, lights, etc and sign off. Then I've been to some that would fail you for an aftermarket exhaust.

I had that happen with my celica gts. And then they failed my mustang gt for having smoked headlights. Va seems to pick and chose depending on where you go...

VA safety inspection is pretty much basic stuff like working brakes and headlights. A good rule of thumb is that the further away you are from urban areas the less they care about modifications.

Anything outside of northern va doesn't have emissions and doesn't really care about mods.
