Default Vacation

In the beginning part of October, my GF and I will be taking a much needed vacation. I already have a place to stay in Alexandria with a friend but I am more so curious on the nightlife, car scene and club scene in DC. Are there anything specifics I should know about the area (places to stay away from)? Its up in the air whether or not I will be bring my AP1 or driving an Equinox. Any info would be great. We are really into art and nature so we already planed on going to the Mall. My GF is really interested in going to a fire spinning club that she heard about but we can't find out any info on it. Hope to hear some great feedback from this because I am sure there is a lot to do.

Thanks

You don't want your AP1 in the city, leave it at home if you want to spend a lot of time in the city proper. Potholes and door dings, red light and speed cameras and hoodlums. The only time I drove my car in the city was maybe a drive in Rock Creek park.
I can't comment on the club scene. I am last club I was at in DC was Camelot, your GF may not like it there, if she does marry her.

Now if you want to take your car 70 miles west or north of the city there are some great driving roads and October is the perfect season for that.

If you and your GF like nature, I would say take a drive down about an hour and half away from D.C. to Front Royal, VA and visit Skyline caverns. The drive is beautiful that time of the year and the Cavern tour is different and fun. Cheap on the wallet too !

I took out my s2 to DC not too long ago, BAD IDEA. It was her idea and I had no clue road would be that bad. I drove thru George Town. SO many ppl walking around, So many traffic lights and SOO MANY POT HOLES. Seriously my front lip got scratched about 7 times. (lowered on tein springs) I don't drive in DC so I don't know a lot about the road but my experience in George Town was horrible. Construction going on too.

If you end up driving s2, try not to parallel park. High chance someone will leave you with their license plate bolt marks

Nightlife in DC has something for everyone in my opinion. Let me know what you're into (music, bar/lounge/club etc.) and I'll try and point you in the right direction.

GF is big into fire spinning. We both like the low lit "chill" environment. She dances :/ and of course I don't lol. Any type of music but country.

The only time I've seen fire spinning in DC was when a touring burlesque show came though.
They played at a little club east of the convention center, i think called "the warehouse".
In my *limited* experience, a low lit chill environment is tough because everywhere is packed full of folks, but I usually go out to bars rather than clubs.
