Got mine yesterday - $163 on my MY2002 here in Henrico County. Hey, it was less than what I paid last time which was $223.

I'm moving! That tax is just plain wrong. It's like a penalty to own anything.

i think mike quoted a 6-month tax. some localities do semi-annual billings, others do annual....but that still doesn't seem right. maybe the tax rate where you are silvs2knvb is much higher.

my 2001 S2000 was assessed at $23,700
albemarle has a $4.28 per $100 tax rate
with the 70% reduction on the first $20,000 of assessed value, the total annual tax for me is $415.16

maybe you are looking at the total annual value before the state 70% reduction???

Man you guys are complaining now. At least it wasn't as bad as it was back in the 90's. I remember my property tax for my 97 Integra GSR was almost a grand for a car that cost 20G's!! Its a good they gave us a tax break or we would be paying a lot more than we are now. I know property tax sucks but its what keeps VA roads nice and fit (for the most part that is). It could be like DC roads all the time you know.
