Default Turning Rotors in NorVA

Way back when - Trak-Auto used to turn rotors for $5 each or FREE if you bought a set of brake pads from them (I like the free word)...... My +1 has a 2002 Toyota Avalon that needs front brakes and the rotors turned (I have a hysterical steering wheel when the brakes are applied). So does anyone know of anyone turning rotors these days in the Burke, Fairfax, Annandale, Chantilly area

Ken, I'm pretty sure I recall seeing the necessary machinery at the auto hobby shop on Quantico, but I think it is a service they charge for(i.e. they do not allow customers to do it).

PepBoys in Manassas should do it. I've had it done at PepBoys in NJ a few times when I was living there. Its not too expensive -- if you bring the rotors there yourself, but it isn't free. If you need them to take off the rotors for you then of course you have to pay their labor.

As stated above, pretty much any auto shop will have a brake disk lathe.

My local shop charges about $8 a disk, but that's with me carrying them in.

Appreciate the responses here and via PM .. I ended up taking them to Fairfax Auto Parts in Burke Centre .... Initially $15.50 each, but I bought a set of Wagner Ceramic Pads for $40 and met the guy 1/2 way for the cost of turning the rotors ($15.50 for the pair) ......

Again thanks for the responses, suggestions and offers ..... A great community Mid-A ...

Ken
