Default Turbo installer recommendations?

Good morning, all!

I've been mulling the idea of a turbo upgrade for my AP1 - saw a video of a Full-Race GT30R that looked pretty intriguing. I'm kind of a lurker and thought I remembered seeing a shop near Manassas offering a pretty good deal on a turbo install last year, but my attempts to search for it have been in vain. Anyone have any opinions/experience with someone in the area?

Also, if you want to add your .02 on turbo kits or if the whole idea is idiotic, feel free to chime in

If its in manassas, then it might have been Ptuning. they (used to at least) specialize in s2000's and had their own turbo kit for them. I have known of them since 06ish and haven't heard anything bad about them.

You're thinking of ptuning. I had their kit previously and was really happy with it. Good spool and great power, I put down 422whp, and forget torque.

If you're interested then give them a call. Heard they were going to stop producing it.

This is exactly what I was thinking about. Do you remember how much labor was on top of the kit? It seems pretty pricey compared to some others I've seen.

I don't remember the amount of labor. It is pricey compared to some kits and definitely more expensive than supercharger. But the power delivery and overall quality of everything (exhaust manifold, turbo placement, downpipe is practically straight, spool, reliability) make it worthwhile IMHO. Transient response was awesome, which really helps with overall drivability and smoothness on the track.

Previously they offered a complete set up to include oil cooler and dual exhaust. Not sure if they still offer those add ons but the oil cooler was well worth it if you ever plan on getting on track. Otherwise it would be fine on the street without it.
