Default The TSCC Autox Season is Over :(

Well, the 09 TSCC autocross season has come to an end. Rain played a huge part in this season so being able to finish with a dry event was nice. It was a little cool and I'm fighting pnuemonia but it was well worth it.

Big props to James for being the fastest stock class car on street tires. He's come a long way in the last few events and laid the smack down on his old street tire nemesis. Nice job. I promise, you can ride along as much as you want at Pungo.

This was a good event for me having come off a miserable few months of car issues and running in only wet conditions. My first run was good enough for 3rd overall Raw and 3rd in Pax and my third run resulted in 1st in PAX and 3rd overall raw. I couldn't hold on to it though, the competition was tough and a couple drivers really pulled off some quick 4th runs.

My Final result; 1st in Class, 4th overall PAX, and 6th overall Raw (not bad for a stock 4 cyl.)

If you're even thinking about autocross, you have to give it a shot at least once.

That event was a great way to cap off the season. Awesome course that really suited our cars.
Jeff, from watching your runs, it seemes like I took your advice on everything except the last corner. I didn't go wide enough at the finish even though I had plenty of room to take the car back in.
Also, the star specs ruled. If anyone is looking for the most performance tyre per dollar, I think these would be hard to beat.
I was able to pull 1-2 second on guys that I'm normally 1-2 seconds behind. I guess that means I improved by 2-4 seconds. I hope those skills don't wear off over the winter.
The last event of the season is Dec. 4th at pungo. Next season starts in March. Let's get a lot of S2000s out there!

Thanks everybody! Final results came out this week for TSCC, I finished 6th overall. I'm really learning to drive the s and it showed later in the season. Who knows what next year will bring.

Yeah, memorization and visualization play a huge role in autocross. If you take it seriously, you'll have run the course in your mind 100 times before you ever physically pull up to the start line.

This course required special attention. It was a sea of cones and lots of people were going off course. Eliminating the unnecessary cones in your mind and focusing on the race line made a huge difference.

Yeah, you'll have to come back down. I was hoping to get up your way this year but each of the events I could make was just a bit to far out of my range. Hopefully this next year I'll actually make it up there.
