Update: So, called the body shop today -- they're working ahead of schedule -- and the car has all of the body work complete and painted. All that's left is to put her up on the lift to see if there was any damage underneath the car due to going off the road, and a wheel alignment, and I might get her back as early as Friday!

I didn't expect to have her back so quick, as it's not even a month since she went into the shop!

Keep your fingers crossed for me that nothing is wrong on the underside of the car!

Reverbe,

Make sure you request and get a UK alignment, not the US std one.

Do a search on this board for the specs.

I have a MY02 -- I didn't seem to find the settings for '02, just '00, '01.

Tips? Or just use the same as for those years. Right now, they're setting up to do the factory spec - and it might actually be too late if they finished it today.

I have a MY02 and used the same 00-01 UK specs

UK SPECS (use the ones on the bottom)

I would ask them for a print out from the alignment machine regardless

Reverbe,

Glad to hear your unfortunate story's turning out okay in the end. I hit a deer coming out of Turn 9 at Summit last fall in my S, and I know how shaken up a track-incident can be. I've gone to a modified version of the UK settings and find the car a LOT more predictable, and I echo those recommending an alignment to you.

Best,
CB

Reverbe,

Curious as to what tires you were running on the track (couldn't tell from the pictures).

the S02's are hell in water. Please be careful in the rain.

I agree, worse than ice skating. I've been very happy with the S03 PPs; a huge improvement in the wet.

Alas, no custom alignment from the shop my car is getting repairs. Thanks for the links tho -- when I replace my S02's I'll make sure to get a UK alignment for my baby!

Well, I got my baby back today, and she's looking fine.

Right now, I've only 'noticed' two things that I need to take her back for (don't you wish you could just get everything fixed properly?)

1. The S2000 logo looks a little.. off kilter. I have to compare with my damaged pics, but it looks to me like they weren't so careful in putting the logos back on.

2. I noticed that they had painted the undercarriage of the car, just below the doorline to match the paint color. Apparently, they didn't look at the other side, which is black, to match it. I only noticed it because I'd never actually seen this part of the car before (the black hides it real well so you don't notice it).

But, I want to drive her around a little bit more just to make sure there are no mechanical problems before I take it back to the body shop for some more time. But, she should be good to go for the next meet!
