I will never forget that day. I was on a United Airlines 767 scheduled to take off at 08:30 headed from Washington Dulles Airport to Denver on my way to Arizona for a business trip. Because of a technical problem with the rudder we never got off the ground. Moments before they kicked us off the plane the person sitting across the isle from me cell phone rang and someone from his office told him that someone had flown a plane into the World Trade Center. Seconds later they kicked us off the plane.

The person that was sitting next to me, that I had been chatting with invited me to the Red Carpet Club with him. As we walked up to the desk, Bob asked one of the two women behind the desk "do you know what is going on?" She burst into tears, covered her face and ran! Her co-worker stepped over and apologized and explained that they had just found out that one of the hi-jacked planes was one of theirs (UAL).

We walked into the lounge just in time to see the second plane fly into the other World Trade Center building.

I guess I will never know if I was on the "fifth" plane? The one that did not get off the ground due to a mechanical problem.

May the victims rest in peace and the terrorists burn in Hell!

And here is my September 11, 2001 momento. Besides the memory I posted earlier that will be with me forever.
