Default Tires size

Currently I'm waiting for my TE-37 in 17's to arrive. What should be the perfect set up for the 17's?
I heard some people said F 215/45R17 & R 245/40R17 or
F 225/45R17 & R 245/40R17

Which set up is better?

btw: my tires choice will be Kumho MX

Jackie - Try posting this in the Tire Rack's Tire and Wheel forum.

Or you can PM Phantom and I'm sure he'd have your answer - he knows his offsets and what width tires you can run without rubbing if you plan on lowering.

Suzuka - i had those exact wheels on my red s2000.... i started with 215's on the front but i "thought" BIGGER is better.... when i got rid of the original tires (the were RE730's... freaking awfull tires)... i got 225's for the front (AVS Sports)... and at that point, they almost looked too big.

Personal preference i guess.... i suppose the bigger front tires would allow for more oversteer if that is your preference.

I don't want that much oversteer.......(very dangerous)! I would rather the car understeer than oversteer. I guess 215's will be the best choice then huh?

Certainly take the time to ask Tirerack or some other place, but I think the 215's were better fitted.... some heavier cars (BMW's) seem to run the 225 fronts with 245's in the rear..... i think the combo of light weight and the oversteer (which I have no idea how '02's handle...they supposedly changed the susp a bit.?) would make ya wanna get 215's.

I think mentally people always think bigger is better though.

215 front's should be run with 255 rears. 205 Fronts and 245 rears are about right
