TIRE SHOPS

TIRE SHOPS
I just ordered a new set of 17inch rear tires for my AP2, and have been calling around the local shops to get quotes on mounting, balance, and valve stems. Ive gotten everything from 40 to 110 dollars a tire. Can someone recommend an affordable local place that will do a great job. I live in Columbia Maryland..

radial tire. (www.radialtire.com) just outside baltimore (silver springs), little hole in the wall shop that does ALOT of buisness. Very good prices (they charged me wholesale instead of retail), can get just about anything (including R-compounds) Call a few days in advance to be sure they have the tire/size you want ready, be there REAL early. Best bet is to drop off wheels and pick up later, alot easier.
*edit* misread, you already have tires. they want like $13 a tire if I remember correctly.

I believe Costco only does it if you buy the tires from them... But I've never gone, so I could be wrong. That's just what I was told.
Shop around for prices. The best I found was $18/tire at a Gaithersburg airpark tuning shop whose name I now forget...

Wise Automotive in Timonium. Jeff Wise owns an AP1 s2000 and hand-torques each lugnut instead of using a pneumatic wrench like the chain stores. He charges reasonable rates and is an approved installer for Tirerack.
