Default Tint.

So I gotta get the two front windows on the new Ridgeline tinted to match the rears. Rear from the factory is 22% so I was going to go with 20% and hope for a good match seeing as the 20% will most likely fade a little over time.

Anyways I was calling around for estimates and was surprised to find out that just two windows were $130 from D&L (3M) and $100 from Atlantic Solar (Lumar). Now I had Atlantic Solar do mine last time on my old GSX and it was $130 for all 5 windows + a windshield strip so $100 seems kinda high for just two side windows.

Any suggestions as to where else to look or who else is a reputable installer. I know we sometimes have local "tint days" and I happened to miss the last one because I didn't have the truck then.

Any help would be appreciated.

Let me know how it turns out Brian! What tint are you going with? I'm just gonna get 20% to match the rears since factory is 22% on the rear.

I work in White Marsh right next to the Avenue and around the corner from D & L so lets do lunch!

We can do a happy hour one day, Im right up the road at exit 77. My dad just had his MDX done there this past weekend and they quoted him the same exact prices and they did a great job on his. I used to have a guy up here in Bel Air but his hours are crazy.

So weird.

- We both have s2000's
- We both bought Ridgelines the same week without knowing
- Both of our Dad's own MDX's.

Are we related?

I had my S done at D&L also, had to take it back twice because one side kept bubbling, but they fixed it with no problems.

22 sounds dark for the ridgeline rear, I have 20 on my S and I think it's much darker than the ridgeline, but I'm just going by eyesight.

130 sounds high for two windows though, granted it was 7 years ago, but I paid 1/3 of that.

Not sure if they make a 25 or 30 (i know they make a 35), but I would opt for that rather than have darker fronts and lighter rears (i'd rather have lighter fronts and darker rears).

Just my opinion

P.S. my dad doesn't drive an MDX

I'm thinking 20% in the front because it will most likely lighten and fade over the years of use and in the end it would end up being 22% or lighter which would be pretty close to the rears.

Per my research it seems that 22% is the factory tint on the rear windows from multiple sources.

btw, looks like you don't get to be part of the ultra cool "my dad owns an MDX" club.

My dad drives a '99 Infinity I30.

I'll take your word on the 20%. Any reputable shop (like D&L) should be able to tell you what to use anyway.

BTW - what MY/color is yours? Mine is a Black 06 and Brian's is a White 06.
