Default Timing chain tensioner (TCT)

Hello Mid-A family ... I started my car this morning and all were fine. I later begin to hear a clicking/ticking sound under the hood. After further research I found out the sound was coming from my Timing Chain Tensioner. Is there anyone in the Mid-A that can lend a hand with the removal and sandblasting of a few small parts?

I just ordered one from BillMan and switched it out. He modified it a bit so it has a lifetime guarantee on it, and the swap was easy, but I don't wanna have to do it again.

+1 for Billman's TCT. I can do the swap for you with Billman's or an Honda OEM TCT as well, but not the sandblasting.

If FF2Skip was still in the area I'm sure he would chime in ...... I think its pretty easy (as far a the change out goes), but I'd be inclined to swap one out with one of Billman's modified ones..... I've never done one......

I think Billman will be heading to the dragon around the 13th of Sep, you might be able to catch him near I-66/I-81 around that time... send him a PM .....

Thanks for the info and knowledge everyone ... I've decided to go Billman's route. I'll keep you all posted and I'll be reaching out for a hand or two once I receive the new TCT. Have a blessed weekend Mid-A family !!!

Don't know any one that does the sandblasting but inlinePro also sells modified CCT's. (TCT) See demo/how-to in my signature block for replacement. It's super easy.

I'll second the super easy bit. Just don't overtorque the bolts while putting them back in... I snapped a head, and THAT took a while to fix.

But it's easier than changing any of the fluids too. Pricing isn't shabby, and never having to worry about it again is just... nice.
