Are there any lawyers in here?

just make sure to get the cheapest lawyer you can find. i paid $750 for mine. b*tch couldn't even get it dropped when the cop didn't show. she didn't do anything really, just looked pretty. the judge just needs to see that you paid into the system. he knocked mine down to improper driving.

Umm...Lucky You?
Just goes to show there ain't NO amount of advice from any owners out there that's going to read the crystal ball of Traffic Court.
Seriously tho'...The rule here in the Mid-A forum for tickets ought to be something along the lines of: "Bitch if you wants to...but take it like a 'man'. Defend yourself, or get a lawyer...at your own discretion. Oh, and good luck to all ticket owners." Cuz outside of that mantra, anything ANY of us offer as advice is just an exercise in 'ing in the wind ...

Without a lawyer I got it reduced to a non-moving violation. $161 dollars and a day I had to miss class.
RAN AWAY

Am I incorrect with this?

thats odd. My understanding of these scenarios is that if the officer does not show up for your hearing then there is no one to prosecute the case (since it is the officer's job and he wasn't there) so the case gets dropped automatically.

We work on a few state trooper cars at work. They said if they don't show up on the date on the summons, you get to plead innocent or guilty. If you plead innocent, the judge can set a second date, or go ahead and lower the charge. Hope that helps

That's the way it works in Ohio. You take a day off work; the cop doesn't show; you enter a plea and get to take another day off work. Since the cop now knows you're contesting the ticket, he/she will be there for your second day off work.
