Are there any lawyers in here?

Did he write you a ticket for reckless or did he just write you a ticket for speeding? The officer has discretion to write just speeding even if the speed normally would be considered reckless ... If he only gave you speeding, I wouldn't contend it in court and would just pay the ticket.
If you contend it -- there's a chance the judge could decide to give you a reckless.

Not to be an ass but the speed limit there is 55mph.If your heading north on 95 after it splits,2 lanes bend left...if thats the spot he clocked you at then he's right.Im just going off the info you gave in the first post.

I drove up 95N last night from Florida to Richmond. The speed limit drops to 55mph at mile marker 49.6 (it's right next to the sign), the location of the offense was mile marker 46+/- where the limit is still 65mph.
I'm going to contact the court and try getting a hold of the ADA.
The ticket is reckless due to speed, the code says the violation is "anything in excess of 20mph or above 80mph regardless of excess"

Can we have a section specifically for Traffic Tickets so we don't have to see them here anymore? This is becoming a searchable topic as there is a new one posted every week.
I counted and this is the only ticket-related thread on the front page of Mid-A within the past 90 days... so my guess is no.
