I'm ashamed to admit it, but my wife knew how to drive stick long before I did. I got one lesson on her old Corrado, one on her current 03 Civic Si, and then a few test-drive experiences in a few S2000s, an NSX, C5 Corvette, RX-8, G35, 07 Civic Si, and an 07 Fit (I really didnt know what I wanted or could afford) before I bought the S2000 last year.
So as someone who recently learned, I would suggest convincing a friend with an easier manual transmission like the Civic to let her take it out for the first (and maybe second) lesson. A car with a difficult clutch may not be very encouraging and if she stalls it a couple times, she may feel intimidated and fearful about breaking something.

that may be true...........but knowing her......she's a fairly confident willing girl. Besides.. i dont know anyone else that owns a non s2000 with a manual near me lol. So she really doesnt have much of a choice......besides.. if she can learn to drive this thing, she can drive just about all the other cars

lol, thats y u gota find a gf who already knows how to drive stick!
that learning process is just too painful. no matter how patient u r, there will be outburst of annoyance and frustration... which leads to a fight and future irrevocable damages
and are u so sure u'll be "resting" while she's driving? i'd be sleeping with 1 eye open and more stressed... at least for the first couple months after she learns

OH trust me............She DEF knows how to drive my stick.......but were talking about a manual car here Mohaha..
No seriously... i've taught a few ladies for some reason, they dont take long to learn when i teach them. I did however freak out once when someone else was trying to do burn outs in the parking lot and my ex got a lil nervous and popped the clutch and the 350z took off and she slammed on the brakes just in time not to hit the curb....other than that.. never had a problem.
besides.. she's not one to raise her voice which prevents me to not raise my voice. She's gonna feel comfortable......no matter how nervous i am or scared i'll be lol.
Im usually a hyper guy.........but in situations where emotions need to be controlled, i do it very well.....
